It's really an interesting thing, writing a blog post about the maternity pictures you took for one of your longest- held friendships. Someone who's childhood is so intertwined with mine it is very hard for me to even remember exactly when we became friends. I know by 8th grade, we were spending a ton of time together, and by high school she had cemented herself as a lifelong friend of mine. And I know that many of my early memories of her include this man standing beside her in these images, the soon to be father of her first baby, her husband, whom I equally adore. Erika is so special to me, and I am beyond honored that I got to capture these two at this time. Something changes when you become a parent...who am I kidding, EVERYTHING changes...maybe it is still the postpartum hormones, but I am excited to tears here about what these two are about to experience (and SOON). Their baby is already, and will continue to be, so incredibly loved, and such a huge source of joy to them. And I cannot wait to get to watch them have that kind of love in their lives. We talked when we got together about the compliments people seem to always give pregnant women, how everyone knows you have to tell them they are glowing, and how it feels so untrue. But honestly, I have not seen a more beautiful pregnant woman in my life, sweet friend. I am going to stop blubbering now--just wait for the newborn post in a few weeks (OMG!)- I love and cherish you both very much, Erika and John!
Seriously? Seriously. Stunning. And glowing. :)
