The H Family | Springfield IL family photography

I had such a special experience with the H family last week on our two-in-one session!  I have been wanting to do a lifestyle session with a family, and knew that this family was the perfect choice for it, with a house that has lots of nice natural light and 3 really fun kids!  I am going to bring this family to you in 2 posts, the first one being the lifestyle session and I am so excited about it!  I met the H family at their home and documented some of the sweet details of their home, followed the kids around for a while with my camera to catch them playing, and got some really fun shots of them all baking together.  We had a blast!  I adore this type of session because it really just captures them doing the things they love in their natural environment- there is something so special about a family in their own place.  I just love lifestyle photography because it feels so real and true to me.  I hope to get to do much more of this style of work.
In their next post from our outdoor portion, I will share much more about this lovely family with you, and you don't want to miss it- we had the most lovely scenery and light that evening, and they are an absolute joy to be around!
Meet the H family!

Of course, we had a little music time, which is how I met this lovely family in the first place! photo HuntleyFamily_0013.jpg

And finally, to baking.  Mom and dad sat back and let the kids have the fun- I will always wonder how these cookies turned out, but they went from typical cookie balls to one LARGE cookie ball to a cookie cake...good times! photo HuntleyFamily_0014.jpg

  1. Jill - these are such neat photos! How great to capture the kids in their own environment...thank you so much for that! And, yeah, they do adore each other 75% of the time....glad you weren't here during that other 25%!! It can get ugly! :) p.s. sure wish I'd polished the piano!! p.p.s. The cookie "cake" the kids made actually turned out pretty good. I thought about bringing you some, but I figured you wouldn't have wanted any after seeing how it had been handled!! Ha! Again, thank you!!! -Alicia

  2. Alicia--I am so glad you enjoy them! I am so excited for you to see the rest, and the outdoor photos :) I bet the cookie cake was delicious- and those babies are plenty clean for me to have tried some! :) And lastly- yes, there are some fingerprints on that lovely piano...but I keep believing (HOPING!) that one day we will be thankful for those memories in our pictures of those little fingers when they are gone from our homes and the pianos stay (mostly) polished- now you can remember! :) You are so very welcome.

  3. Jill, I just LOVE this lifestyle session! How perfect! And before I read the mama's above comment about the piano fingerprints--when I saw that photo I thought how much I *liked* that the piano hadn't just been polished. Such a cute family & you did a great job capturing them!
