Shelby: Class of 2014 | Springfield Senior Photography

I will always wide and far profess my adoration for my students- I absolutely adore working with high schoolers!  That being said, some of them really work their way into my heart for one reason or another...and Shelby is one of them.  She is heavily involved in the fine arts, and I have gotten to know her very well over the past 4 years.  She is a very strong student leader, incredibly likable, and very talented- a great combination!  I am so proud of her for her accomplishments throughout high school, and think she has picked the perfect career for her future- I cannot wait to watch and see what all comes of her life!  Meet Shelby:

This girl?  Totally stunning!

One of my favorites!

I just love this set by this wall, picturing her favorite flower!

We had the most beautiful light to play with during this session- so so much fun!

Stunning!!

Loved this location- would you believe it was by the side of a random parking lot?!

Shelby--I just adore you and am excited for all of the fun we have left together this spring!  I will be so sad to see you graduate, though am so very proud of you!  Much love!!

Laken: Senior Class of 2014 | Senior Photography, Springfield IL

Laken. There is so much to say about this lovely girl (though her pictures will speak for herself!!) but I have to start with that she arrived with a darling and fun entourage of people for her session, and I couldn't help but think about this girl who just kind of pulls people into her orbit, causing them to gravitate around her! She had 4 different men there each that needed images with her, including her boyfriend, dad, little brother, and could-be little brother, and I just loved capturing her with those loved ones--it is TRULY one of my favorite parts of this "job".  We had so much fun together on a beautiful fall night, at a place packed with photographers and families, finding our spots where no one else was and capturing the beautiful light, and beautiful company.  Laken is vibrant, sweet, funny, SUPER helpful, smart, and very involved at school.  Meet the lovely Laken:

I knew immediately that the session was going to be great- the camera loves her, and she just photographs extremely well.

See what I mean?! Laken, you are STUNNING!

Like I was saying, I love capturing my seniors with those they love, and I may have gone a bit overboard with Laken and her high school sweet heart (who is now in college- more on that soon!)! But I adore these images.

This was the FIRST image I took the whole day.

Would you believe it if I told you we were under a bridge in a muddy hole in the ground here, getting debris from the bridge dropped on us?!  Photography is ALL about light and seeing beauty in the un-tred!!

Laken, class of 2014 (we didn't graffiti the bridge, in case anyone was wondering- I love finding the numbers where we do session though!!)!

Work it, girl!

Laken's Dad, brother, and could-be brother were also involved, and I loved these images with them each:

Love!

Favorite!

Laken is going to be joining Brock, her love, at Millikin in the fall and I am SO.EXCITED.FOR.HER. I know that just because I adored my time at Millikin doesn't mean everyone will, but the place is so very special to my heart, and I am just thrilled that she is going to go and experience the next wonderful stage of her life there. Laken--your future is what you make of it--enjoy your time there and continue to shine in that beautiful Laken way!!!
