Favorites of 2014: Weddings!

Yearly, this is one of my absolute FAVORITE posts to put together. It is so much fun to review the year and pick out favorites...but really, I just love the reminder. The reminder of all of the AMAZING people I have gotten to meet as a part of this "job". The reminder of the fun, kind, JOYFUL couples that for some reason choose little ME to capture the most important day of their lives so far. The engaged couple that picks my work and me as their investment. The INCREDIBLE, beautiful, creative, often super DIY details they come up with to decorate their days. The cakes and flowers and rings and dresses and heels and cuff links and ties....When I am photographing weddings, I get to spend full days with people who are filled with excitement, anticipation, and joy at the beginning of a new start, of a family. It is absolutely the most humbling and joyful genre of photography for me, and I have completely fallen in love with it. Collecting all of these also fills me with such great excitement for the 2015 wedding season to start--it will be taking up a huge portion of my photography work this year and I am so excited about that as I see Jill Gum Photography moving towards specializing in a couple of areas- weddings DEFINITELY being one of them!
