Funny, entertaining, smart, hardworking, engaging, talented, athletic...there are a lot of words to describe this young man who I have gotten to know over the past 4 years, but mostly this year, at school. What I REALLY knew about Dom before this year was that he had been in the chorus of his freshmen year musical (and I loved directing him), he was a natural on stage, that he was universally liked at school, that he is a great asset to soccer and track teams, and that he had a reputation for being a hard worker. This year, through various circumstances, he ended up in my classroom 2 periods a day, and I am so thankful to get the opportunity to really get to know this wonderful kid!
A lot of people tend to think that "teenagers these days" have few goals or dreams or ambitions. Either I work with the only small percentage defy this stereotype, or it isn't really true at all (I lean towards the second option there). Dom is one of those students that I think could show even the biggest cynic that there is great hope in our youth! I am so excited to see what becomes of his fun self because I know there are great things in store for him! Meet Dominic:
This CRACKS me up!! It is so "Dom"...
Dom, you really have the picture taking thing down!!!
One of my (many!) favorites here!
Then we headed to the park for a bit of fall color and plaid- loved it!
Best.lighting.ever.
This is my absolute favorite from the day- hope the tree climb was worth it, Dom! :)
And last, I just adore this...as a recently new boy-mom, I already know that having a set like this when my sweet boy gets this age will mean so very much to me- what a special relationship the mother-son one truly is! Thank you, Dom and Monica, for letting me capture it, and this whole session!!!
