Bridget and Mike's wedding day dawned with a little sun, beautiful cool temperatures, and great excitement! I shot this wedding also alongside the fabulous Beth (see her stunning post from this wedding here), and just adored the day!
We of course spent the morning getting ready with the bride, and with a ton of people in a sweet and well lit apartment, it was hubbub and fun all around! I will admit, there was something about this day, this wedding, that was extra special to me, and it became clear throughout the day what it was, even though it started the first moment I saw Bridget's dress...there were some very strong similarities between Bridget's day and my own (documented by Beth also!) nearly 3 years ago. Those similarities started with the dress! I just adored her gown, and it had stark similarities to mine, which just took me right back to that day.
As the day continued we were surrounded by love, jitters, excitement, a photographers dream length of a portrait session, and oh so much fun. Bridget and Mike- it was such an honor to be a part of your day! I am so excited for you as you start your life together. And to my Beth- your work inspired me greatly on my wedding day, and working alongside you is a total dream come true!! Enjoy Bridget and Mike!!

The ceremony was beautiful, and while very different from mine, brought the second similarity-the song "Follow Me" by John Denver was used in their ceremony, and it is my husbands very favorite song and lost our first dance competition only by a sliver, but was the final dance song at my wedding. Beautiful!

And another similarity? We did all the bridal party portraits at the beautiful Chicago Botanic Gardens, which was where Mike's and my engagement session was!
