I have said it before and will say it again, but one of the things I ADORE about this business (usually I post about one of those things with each session--there is so much I love!!) is when I get the honor of photographing past or current students in an important stage of their life. When Katie, a student I taught in my first 2 years, contacted me about shooting her engagement portraits and possibly wedding, I was absolutely floored. I have known Katie for 7 years now, and that began when she was 16!! I can't believe my kids are old enough to get married, but they are, and it is fabulous! Even though Katie wouldn't consider herself musical, she happened in my music electives and was a dream of a student. And now, seeing how she has grown and matured into a beautiful, friendly, fun woman--it brings me such joy! And I sound so old writing all of this! :)
When Katie and I met to plan her and her Jaron's engagement session and discuss their wedding, she had a binder spilling with details, fabric samples, and plans. I LOVED it- it reminded me so much of me just 3 short years ago when I was planning my own wedding. There are many more similarities in our stories--Katie is marrying a laid back, calm, kind country boy- just like I did. Jaron balances Katie wonderfully, just like my Michael balances me. And she brings so much light and color into his landscape. I absolutely adored watching them interact during this session, and just seeing them spend time together. And I absolutely cannot wait for their 2015 wedding! Katie cares a LOT about her photography, which makes her pretty ideal to begin with, and when you throw in a couple that adores each other, and has as much FUN as they do, it is a perfect mix! Enough gushing....meet Katie+Jaron.
Katie, you are absolutely STUNNING!
And so is their love...I could not pick a favorite between these 4!
I was a bit obsessed with Katie's ring, and gave it a LOT of camera time!
I love the stories these shoes tell about them each :)
After spending a lot of time at Covered Bridge, where Jaron proposed to Katie, we headed out to the country to grab some beautiful light and opens pace.
Looking good, you two!!
A little dancing and fun :)
My angle...
And Michael's...I ADORE this shots of his!
FAVORITES!
Katie and Jaron, we had SO much fun with you and cannot wait for your wedding next May!!! Xox
